It really does feel like you are fighting humans in the dogfights though. The AI is quite good, except for the occasional collision between friendlies. I could spend hours just practicing landings and stunt flying, but since this is a combat game, I will focus on that. Actually pulling off a carrier landing in a thunderstorm with high wind on simulation setting is about as difficult as anything in gaming, but man does it feel good to do. It can be a beast just trying to take off and keep your plane in the air, but to me, that is what is so rewarding. Absolutely amazing flight model and physics engine for a console game. Here is my (not so) quick rundown of the game: Gameplay: (10). It's why I don't review Barbie Horse Grooming Simulator. Why even review the game if you hate the style of game. A magazine giving this game a 3/10 just shows ignorance.

The game is a SIMULATION, that is the whole point. I get so frustrated when I read reviews that mark the game down for being too "hard". I feel with some of the negative reviews out there, I had to help shed some positive light on this amazing game.

For now enjoy the screens and trailer.I agree with MickT. On the co-op side of things the game will offer separate co-op missions to play, though no details of those were provided other than calling them "co-op strike missions." So far it seems to be an online only affair. While the game is geared towards sim fans, players who opt for a more arcade like experience, Birds of Steel will offer that as a control option. The press release states the game is going to pay close attention to detail - realistic landscapes, battle damaged planes, and an overarching campaign where your actions effect other missions. The game is being developed by Gaijin Entertainment - who put out the recent co-op game Apache: Air Assault.īirds of Steel will contain over 100 flyable planes through 20 historical missions. Today they've announced Birds of Steel - a WW2 flight simulator for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Just when you thought the industry was done with it Konami decides to buck the trend. World War 2, remember that? There used to be a few games based on the historical war.
